Knuckles

In only three days my husband will be here in Alaska! I can't wait. This past week was pretty awful so I just want these last few days to go by without too much drama. Of course that won't happen... I already think that my super awesome days off on Thursday and Friday are going to be reclaimed by work, which really sucks because Joe will be stuck here with nothing to do.

Last Friday I got a horrible phone call, Joe's dog, Knuckles, died. Hearing Joe so upset was awful because I couldn't be there for him. He told me the story of how it happened, how he got sick and went pale. How he put him in the car and drove to the vet. I wanted to be there for him so badly! I could have cleaned up the car afterwards, I could have carried Knuckles into the vet after he died - just so Joe didn't have to go through that.

Lucky for me my mom is there. I let her know what happened and she went and took him out to lunch, gave him hugs for me and let him take a nap on the couch. My mom is awesome! If I can't be there I'm glad she can be there.

On a more positive note, I went to the tattoo shop yesterday and made an appointment to finish my dress form. Joe and I even talked about a new tattoo idea... I think one day I might get it! It's a secret for now, but later on I may share. Joe doesn't have any tattoos, but I'm glad he seems to like that I have so many.

Other then that, I've just been finishing up the invitations and sending them all out. I've got to reprint all the programs and starts working on more decorations!

More Wedding Stuff

I LOVE paper.
The first thing I thought of when my mom and I started planning my wedding was "OMG Invitations! Place cards! Programs! Table number cards! Thank you notes! Guest books!! Bridesmaid and groomsmen invitations!! I'm going to make them all!" I was SO excited! So far I'm almost done.

Guest book? Check. That was easy-peasy.

Bridesmaid and Groomsmen invites? Check. Already delivered.

Save-the-Dates? Nope. Not spending that much on stamps or paper (or printer ink!) Save the Dates seem redundant anyway. They will get an invitation.

Place cards? Check.

Table number cards? Check.

Programs? Working on it.

I posted a photo of my invitations before, but since then I've completely redesigned them!  I got some really nice envelopes delivered to replace the ones I made (yes, I made a bunch of envelopes from a roll of Kraft paper... they looked janky.)  I added a map I drew on the pocket side of the invitation. I think the black card stock is a little heavy looking but I'll just have to deal with it. I already spent enough money on paper so there is no turning back now! That's me, obsessive about design.

It's a good thing I'm not so obsessed about everything else in the wedding. I would be over loaded!

It's in the Details

Nothing will stress you out like money! I'm trying to be thrifty with my wedding plans, but with catering, locations and plane tickets the dollar signs are increasing before my eyes . I let hubby pick out the location for our honeymoon because he hasn't had the chance to travel like I have. He chose Hawaii, which is nothing to complain about! We have a friend who is a travel agent, so we may get a good deal. I'm sure things will all fall into place.

I picked out some bakers twine from In The Clear on Etsy and made my own little tags for the place cards...

As promised, the Guestbook I made. I am going to buy a bunch of Instax-Mini film and have mustache-on-a-stick props for people to take silly pictures with.

I found some washi tape at the same Etsy store as the bakers twine for guests to tape their photos in the guestbook...

Aaaaaaaand my silly photo props made from cardstock and wooden dowels. I made a Hello Kitty Bow and some lips as well, but didn't take pictures yet.

Bridesmaids and Groomsmen

I really have to learn how to take better photographs! I thought I could use the excuse that it's been dark in Alaska, but now the days are getting longer. It's not a good excuse anymore! I need to get the hang of this whole "natural light" thing.

But enough excuses... Here are my bridesmaid and groomsmen invitations!
