Road Trip Scrapbook - Finished!

It took me quite a while to take some snapshots of our finished scrapbook from our 2013-2014 road trip. I find that making scrapbooks for everyday life is a little boring and I can't motivate myself to keep up. I tend to make scrapbook for things like road trips and vacations, like I did for my 2012 visit to New York (when I unexpectedly got engaged AND married) although I still haven't made a scrapbook for our formal wedding ceremony OR our honeymoon! Talk about inconsistent!

Going through and looking at these scrapbooks brings back so many great memories that just plain photo snapshots couldn't capture.

In fact, I don't know why I even stopped adding to this scrapbook! I still have a ton of Instax film, there are still tons of empty pages in the Smashbook and my scrapbook kit I put together for travel is still in its box. I think I will resume scrapping until I run out of space! Let's make it a promise. Maybe I will do a biweekly update of my progress on the blog as well.

Roswell, New Mexico

Joe loves science fiction. In fact, one of the first things we did together when our long distance relationship started was to watch The X-Files on Netflix together. We watched every episode up until season 9 (it's not really the X-Files without Scully and Mulder!) Of course we also watched plenty of Ancient Aliens and Steven Hawkings Universe. We even dressed up as Agent Scully and Mulder this past Halloween, so it was natural for us to make a stop at Roswell on our road trip.
It was a lot less touristy than we originally thought it would be. There were a few little alien guys in front of some hotels and fast food places, but it wasn't anything too "vegas style." I think in my imagination there was going to be big vegas style aliens lights on top of buildings and stuff... I don't know why I thought that! There were only a couple of little alien themed shops that we didn't get to go into, since most everything in town closed at 5pm. It really is just a quiet little town surrounded by farms, where allegedly some aliens just so happened to crash land in 1947. Still it was a fun place to stop and see!
The International UFO Museum and Research Center was our only stop, but it made it totally worth it. It had a lot of information and news clippings from the actual events, plus some fun little exhibits to take pictures with. The government claims it was only a weather balloon, but it was all very suspicious if you ask me!

Listening to a recording of the Roswell reports on the radio.

Baby Bump - 27 Weeks!

Name: Ellie, Ellie-Bear and "Ellie Belly." Thinking about "Violet" as a middle name, but Joe isn't so sure about it. I really need to sit down and take a look at Nameberry!

Belly Button? Innie still, but Joe predicts it will pop out in two weeks. Yucky!!!

Feeling: Pretty tired after the road trip. I have a sore spot at the bottom of my ribs most of the time too.

Food I'm Missing: Deli meats. I missed out on some nice sandwiches at Which Wich!

Movement: Joe and I still like to watch her punch my belly.

Dreams: Nothing unusual.

Listening to: Iron Maiden, courtesy of papa-bear.

Looking Forward to: Our new house! Well, technically it's an apartment... but thats okay. I'm so sad our road trip is over but I'm glad to be at our final destination. Mrs. Peacock is happy too, but she is still suspicious that we will leave again. She keeps getting into her carrier in the morning when we wake up and start to get dressed. Soon she will have her favorite kitty-tower back to take naps in and she can relax again.

This picture was taken in Roswell at the UFO museum! I cheated since this was technically taken on the very last day of week 26. Oh well! I'm too tired from all the travelling to actually get myself together and find a nice place to take another photo. I will be posting some more pictures in a couple days of the museum. It was pretty fun!
